Swim Lessons

June 18-28, Avery had her first round of swim "lessons" at the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center in Bentonville.  It was a parent & me class, so Daddy did most of the lessons with her, but Mama did do a couple too. She was not a big fan at first, but gradually warmed up each day.  She did great!

Temporary Home

On June 13th, we moved into an apartment at The Links at Bentonville.  It's a fully furnished 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment.  We will be living here while our new home is being built in the Hearthstone subdivison in Rogers.  Avery has adjusted amazingly well to her new temporary home and to sleeping in a LARGE bed. :)  We found some vinyl wall stickers at Target and let her "decorate" her new walls with those and she LOVES them.  We also brought a lot of her toys/stuffed animals/books/etc with us so she has lots to do and play with daily.

The BIG Move

On June 8, Winter Moving & Storage showed up at our house on Hanna Lane to pack up all our belongings.  John and I basically just stayed out of the way and watched as these 3 women packed our entire 2600 square foot house in about 8 hours.  They were amazing and did a fantastic job! We spent our last night in our house that evening and the next morning, the "muscle" showed up with a large semi and loaded all the boxes and furniture.  They were done by early afternoon and we were left with an empty house, heavy hearts, and some excitement for what was to come. 

While Mama and Daddy were in Little Rock preparing to move, Avery spent several days & nights with Juju, Papa, and Sassy.  She had a BLAST and we recevied lots of texts and pictures keeping us up to date on what she was up to! :)

Disney on Ice

We took Avery to Disney on Ice at Verizon Arena this morning and then had lunch in the Rivermarket at The Flying Fish with the Hankins crew.  A LOVED Disney and after her traumatic week (stitches), it was a welcome distraction from her "boo boo".  :)

First Stitches

With as "graceful" as Miss Avery is, I'm truly surprised it took her this long to get her first stitches.  We were at Nana & Poppy's house and I was getting ready to give A a bath.  She was undressing herself and as she pulled her shorts down, she stumbled and smacked her chin right on the edge of the bathtub.  She immediately started screaming and I thought she hit her mouth...as I was trying to look in her mouth, I noticed the blood pouring from the underside of her chin.  She had a clean split that was bleeding pretty good.  She calmed down and then really acted pretty normal.  After cleaning it up and getting a good look, I felt like she might need a butterfly bandage or maybe some glue on it.  So Nana and I loaded her up and took her to the Urgent Care clinic at Har-Ber Meadows.  We were the only people there (thank goodness!) and so we got right in to see the doc.  He was FABULOUS with her.  After checking it out, he told us he felt the best action would be a few stitches...he said due to the location of it (right on the bone), that the butterfly bandages won't stay on and the glue tends not to hold.  So after mummy wrapping her in a bed sheet (pure torture!), I had to pretty much lay on top of her to hold her body still, while Nana held her shoulders and the nurse held her head still--she screamed bloody murder the ENTIRE time and was completely wet with sweat (as we all were) when it was all said and done.  Somehow, the doc got 3 stitches in and he did a fantastic job on them.  Nana, Avery, and I were all worn out when the experience was over.  Hopefully no more stitches for a LONG WHILE!!
